About
The Francophonie Office was established in 2016 within the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca. This entity, now called the “Francophonie Department,” aims to coordinate and facilitate collaboration activities with Francophone partner institutions associated with USAMV Cluj Napoca, with the main objective of revitalizing the Francophone scientific and academic dimension within the university.
The department works in close cooperation with the Francophone University Agency in Central and Eastern Europe (AUF ECO), USAMV CN being an active member of this prestigious international association. It also collaborates with the French Institute in Romania, the French Embassy, the French Consulate in Cluj Napoca, and the Francophone Business Club.
The Francophonie Department carries out complex activities to promote the French language and culture, strengthen international academic cooperation, and support research in a Francophone context. Its main activities include organizing conferences and scientific seminars, academic exchanges, language training for students and teachers, interdisciplinary research projects, as well as cultural and social events. The department also facilitates links with the Francophone business community through career guidance workshops and meetings with entrepreneurs. These initiatives contribute to the development of an active and visible Francophone university community at the regional and international levels.
There are two component structures of the Francophonie Department:
1. Center for Academic Success (Centre de Réussite Universitaire - CRU)
It was created within the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca on December 11, 2012, with the objectives of strengthening the attractiveness of French-language educational programs, increasing the number of French-speaking students and teachers, improving their French language and communication skills, providing students with academic resources, promoting innovative teaching methods, face-to-face and online sessions, as well as autonomous and professional skills development sessions.
2. Francophone Employability Center (Centre d’Employabilité Francophone - CEF)
It was created on July 27, 2022, and inaugurated on December 5, 2022. CEF is a multifunctional space equipped with state-of-the-art technical equipment and designed to host students, trainers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, and guest professionals from various fields of activity. CEF’s mission is to provide consulting, training, certification, and mentoring services focused on students’ personal development through the acquisition of cross-cutting skills, preparation for professional integration, and the stimulation of entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative and creative work. CEF is a focal point for the partnership between the university and the socio-economic world.
