Rector Prof. Dr. Cornel Cătoi to Receive High French Honor – “Palmes Académiques”

Our university is honored to announce a prestigious distinction awarded to its Rector, Prof. Dr. Cornel Cătoi. The French Republic has conferred upon him the Order of Academic Palms (Ordre des Palmes Académiques) in the rank of Officer, recognizing his outstanding contributions to education, research, and international academic collaboration.

The award ceremony will take place on Monday, September 22, at 15:00, in the Aula Magna “Mihai Șerban”. The distinction will be officially presented by His Excellency Mr. Nicolas Warnery, Ambassador of France to Romania.

About the Distinction

The Ordre des Palmes Académiques is one of the oldest civil honors awarded by the French Republic. Established in 1808 by Emperor Napoleon I, it recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to education, science, and culture, and who have actively promoted international cooperation in academia.
